Diving in China
Overall, the sport of scuba diving is quite new. There are still a lot of interesting dive sites to be discovered in this country. Hainan Island is becoming an especially well known for scuba diving.

Sanya Scuba Diving
Since China is not often associated with palm trees, warm blue seas, and wide sandy beaches, it’s a surprise to discover that the it harbors a tropical jewel. The city of Sanya, at the southern tip of China’s southernmost province, is known as the “Asian Hawaii.” Along with the rest of Hainan Island, Sanya provides a marvelous respite from the Thailand-Bali-Fiji tourist circuit.

Scuba diving is Sanya’s most popular water sport and as it boasts the most beautiful dive sites in the China – the water is clear, sea life plentiful, transport and accommodation readily available and instruction to a very high standard. Diving is available at all times of the year, although visibility changes according to the season.

CDEX 2008 is a major step toward bringing the sport of scuba diving to the forefront in China.
