The name is derived from the jumble of concrete blocks dropped by the government next to the wreck of a large wooden Vietnamese fishing boat. The idea being to create an artificial reef to attract fish life for local fishermen. Fishing nets and concrete blocks don't mix too well so the fish stayed and the fishermen left, now the reef is teeming with life. There is a huge biodiversity for marine fish here including lionfish, boxfish, scorpionfish, pufferfish and sweetlips. Currents and visibility can vary.
